BG 3.41

Previous verse it is mentioned where lust is situated and how lust acts, so lust acts by covering our intelligence and lust is situated in mind, senses and intelligence, therefor now you know where the enemy is and what is his strategy so now concqer it, how to conquer it by indriyāṇy ādau, begin with the intelligence, niyamya bharatarabha, regulate it.

The word rabha means bull who is strongest among domestic animals.

In today’s society heroism is shown for lusty gratification.

Heroism is to protect yourself and others from lust, others by setting up example. Like Arjuna has refused proposal of Urvasi.

These sense gratifications can drag a sane person to become villain also.

Consensus cannot be used to decided what is right or wrong, only scripture can decide it.

This will be destroyer of Gyana and Vijyana, forget that I am not body  but soul (Jana nasnam) and urge for self realization is also lost (Vigyana nasnam), since when lust attack us we don’t want to do any thing which will destroy the lust e.g. chanting, remembering Krishna etc. since it is enjoyable. So it will destroy spiritual knowledge and it destroys inclination towards spiritual knowledge.

That is why when people have too much sense enjoyment available then they don’t feel impetus for spirituality.  So having or accepting some short of difficulty in our life help us having fighting spirit, help us remember this is not a comfortable place we have to get out. It will prevent us becoming willing capture (those who are thinking I am happy here there is no need to do anything else) .

The enjoyment available at present is not going to be available forever it may be over very soon.
