TRANSLATION

Thus knowing oneself to be transcendental to the material senses, mind and intelligence, O mighty-armed Arjuna, one should steady the mind by deliberate spiritual intelligence [Krishna consciousness] and thus — by spiritual strength — conquer this insatiable enemy known as lust.

Situate yourself on this path using intelligence, there is soul, intelligence and mind. By your intelligence know yourself to be soul (Param Buddva), yes I am feeling like enjoying at bodily level but I am not the body, with intelligence understand oneself to be spiritual then situate the mind on the spiritual platform, How do we situate mind on the spiritual platform that means think spiritual thoughts, then one will go beyond pull of lust, pull of lust is there as long as we think that we are body and we have to enjoy at material level. Best way to keep mind on spiritual platform is think about Krishna. When we think about Krishna we experience higher happiness then we will conquer lust. Symbol of Kama, lust is heart and then there is arrow that arrow is Puspa Ban from Cupid, so front part is flower so when it touches it is very pleasing but later that flower part is over and hard part perished which causes lot of pain. Cupid uses flower arrow which is sweet initially but painful afterwards, So Kulashekar Maharaj says O lust don’t dare to come to my hear as you are already destroyed by Hara, Lord Shiva, so more powerful then Hara is Hari who is in my heart so if you will come you will be completely destroyed. So Krishna will protect me He will give me higher taste so that no longer temptation will be appealing.

There is two connection between soul and Super Soul, one is direct connection which is at the level of Priti the soul is spontaneously connected to Krishna, if we are not hooked to something higher we will be dragged down, how we will hook to Krishna, if we have Bhakti / priti then naturally we are connected to Krishna, but when we don’t have that then we have to use Buddhi. At saddahka stage there is not spontaneous attraction to Krishna so there should be contentious (conscious or attentive) cultivation for attraction to Krishna. Surely we use our intelligence to connect to Krishna. So we should use our intelligence and mind to contemplate I am not this body I am soul, my real happiness is in the service of Krishna.

So 3.41 is regulate your senses and 3.43 is situate yourself on spiritual platform by doing this one can conquer lust. Similarly Krishna has told in 2.61, so first step is restrain and second is redirect.

Both this thing should be done as part of Karma Yoga for us as Bhakti Yoga.
