chinnābhram iva naśyati
apratiṣṭho mahā-bāho
vimūḍho brahmaṇaḥ pathi

Word for word:

kaccit — whether; na — not; ubhaya — both; vibhraṣṭaḥ — deviated from; chinna — torn; abhram — cloud; iva — like; naśyati — perishes; apratiṣṭhaḥ — without any position; mahābāho — O mighty-armed Kṛṣṇa; vimūḍhaḥ — bewildered; brahmaṇaḥ — of transcendence; pathi — on the path.

Translation:

O mighty-armed Kṛṣṇa, does not such a man, who is bewildered from the path of transcendence, fall away from both spiritual and material success and perish like a riven cloud, with no position in any sphere?

kaccin nobhaya-vibhraṣṭaś, Ubhaya-vibhraṣṭaś means from both path one is deviated. chinnābhram iva naśyati, chinna + ābhram, ābhram is like cloud chinna, is separated torn apart, just like torn apart cloud gets nastayi gets destroyed similarly, apratiṣṭho means without any foundation without any base without any position, mahā-bāho. vimūḍho brahmaṇaḥ pathi such a person becomes Vimudha one who is on path of brahma, pathi is path (or is the person walking on the Path), Brahmana is the path of transcendence, so in BG there are many places where Metaphors are drawn from nature, so in sky say there are two clouds moving in different directions and one piece of cloud wanted to join other cloud going in other direction but before it completely joins other cloud wind blow the other cloud so fast that this cloud couldn’t reach the second cloud like that there are people who are on path of Karma, people who are pursuing other worldly goal, and there are another group of people who are on path of Moksha, liberation, so those who leave this group to join other group they are like this riven cloud, a part of the cloud who comes out from remaining what happens to them? Because of some reason Yoga Chalita Manasah they are unable to continue on path of transcendence then what happens to them? Will they not become aprathista? Neither at home nor at some other shelter, so one is lost completely, so will that be there destination, Arjuna is asking. brahmaṇaḥ pathi they are on the path of transcendence but they become vimūḍha, they become deluded on that path. It is not a theoretical abstract question it is serious question because we are going to strake our life, our future on our spiritual practices so what is going to happen? So he asks in the next verse.
