arjuna uvāca
sthāne hṛṣīkeśa tava prakīrtyā
jagat prahṛṣyaty anurajyate ca
rakṣāṁsi bhītāni diśo dravanti
sarve namasyanti ca siddha-saṅghāḥ

Word for word: 

arjunaḥ uvāca — Arjuna said; sthāne — rightly; hṛṣīkaīśa — O master of all senses; tava — Your; prakīrtyā — by the glories; jagat — the entire world; prahṛṣyati — is rejoicing; anurajyate — is becoming attached; ca — and;rakṣāṁsi — the demons; bhītāni — out of fear; diśaḥ — in all directions; dravanti — are fleeing; sarve — all;namasyanti — are offering respects; ca — also; siddhasaṅghāḥ — the perfect human beings.

Translation: 

Arjuna said: O master of the senses, the world becomes joyful upon hearing Your name, and thus everyone becomes attached to You. Although the perfected beings offer You their respectful homage, the demons are afraid, and they flee here and there. All this is rightly done.

 

Sthāne, at the right position, so it is rightly done. hṛṣīkeśa, O Lord master of senses, 

What happens when Your glories are spoken?

jagat prahṛṣyaty anurajyate ca, whole universe becomes delighted

So two things happens we become joyful and we become attached to the Lord. This is for those who are devotionally inclined. 

rakṣāṁsi bhītāni diśo dravanti, those who are demonic they run away in various directions 

sarve namasyanti ca siddha-saṅghāḥ, all the Siddha, Saintly, are offering Obeisances to You and all this are rightly done

 

There are different types of Raksha Mantra in Vedic Tradition, there are mantras to protect from bad omen, ghosts, similarly  this mantra is part of raksha Raksha mantra by chanting this mantra the rakshasa goes away.
