krodhaḥ pāruṣyam eva ca
ajñānaṁ cābhijātasya
pārtha sampadam āsurīm

Synonyms:

dambhaḥ — pride; darpaḥ — arrogance; abhimānaḥ — conceit; ca — and; krodhaḥ — anger; pāruṣyam — harshness; eva — certainly; ca — and; ajñānam — ignorance; ca — and; abhijātasya — of one who is born of; pārtha — O son of Pṛthā; sampadam — the qualities; āsurīm — of the demoniac nature.

Translation:

Pride, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness and ignorance – these qualities belong to those of demoniac nature, O son of Pṛthā.

sampadam āsurīm, so this is demoniac qualities, the qualities that comprise the demoniac nature

What are the qualities?

dambho darpo ’bhimānaś ca,

dambho is when one doesn’t have good qualities still one wanted to parade that one has good qualities and one wants credit for that.

Darpo, refers to one may have good qualities but one wants to parade those qualities.

And ’bhimānaś is when one wants Mana

As we discussed earlier stuti means other praise and mana means we feel honored. So there is correlation but the focus is different.

So Abhiman is where one is hungry for mana, without mana the person cannot live. In past kings would have bards whose job is only to glorify the king. Of course when king is a devotee his glory is connected to the glory of Krishna.

krodhaḥ pāruṣyam eva ca,

krodhaḥ is anger and pāruṣya is anger expressed through speech that is harshness so insensitive hurting sarcastic speech that is pāruṣyam.

Mardavam Re Achapalam, Mardam is gentleness. So the characteristic of a Godly person is sensitive gentle speech.

Using foul word is so common in Godless people, sometimes people think that if they use more nasty words that is cool, actually that is not cool that is sign of a fool. So the way we speak that is the way we think and that is the way our whole culture gets shaped and effected. So pāruṣyam harshness

So harsh speech is a characteristic of ajñānaṁ cābhijātasya.

So we discussed jñāna-yoga-vyavasthitiḥ and svādhyāya in the qualities of the Godly. So they either have knowledge or they are cultivating knowledge through study.

But ajñānaṁ, ungodly the demoniac if they have any Jyana that is material knowledge, and they actually completely neglect spiritual life and spiritual knowledge and in that way they stay in the darkness of spiritual life that is there misfortune.

Srila Prabhupada written, the royal road to hell is described. So why royal road because the demoniac goes proudly on this road. That means they are proud of being harsh and arrogant.
